The City of Berkeley is pleased to offer electronic submittal requests for permit applications, online payments and inspection scheduling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Getting Started:
Any member of the Public may make a payment, schedule an inspection, and view general permit history without registering for an account. Select "Property Information" or any "Search" link below to find general permit records.
A registered account is required to submit an electronic request for a new building permit application or public works permit application, to apply for a zoning certificate, or to upload documents to building, fire and public works permits, or to review documents, other than plans, related to a permit. Register for an account, login, and open the appropriate tab to submit your request.
Plans and supporting documents must be submitted in electronic format as unsecured, flattened PDF(s) with embedded fonts.
Permit applications may be submitted in-person by appointment at the Permit Service Center. Visit the Permit Service Center website to schedule an appointment for in-person services. Note that plans submitted in-person must be saved on a USB thumb drive.
